Q.        What are the electrical appliances in the kitchens?
A.        Each cottage has a fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer.

Q.        What other electrical items are there?
A.        Satellite tv (with 400 channels), DVD, CD player, hairdryer.

Q.        Do the cottages have an iron?
A.        Yes, all cottages have irons and ironing board.

Q.        Can I use my U.S. hair straighteners or curling tongs?
A.        No, we do provide adaptors for charging mobile phones and camera batteries but they will not handle the voltage needed for those appliances.

Q.        Do the cottages have internet access?     
A.        No, unfortunately, broadband access is still limited in the Irish countryside – but all towns have cheap internet café’s – staff can advise.

Q.        Do you provide a change of towels during the week?
A.        We work under the Failte Ireland self-catering guidelines and by providing a washing machine in each cottage the guest can refresh the towels themselves during their stay if they need to.

Q.        Is there a telephone in each cottage?
A.        There is a payphone in the courtyard which is suitable for local calls or you can rent - for a nominal charge - an Irish mobile phone with which you can make calls to your home country and just pay for calls made.

Q.        What does the utility fee cover?
A.        Electricity costs – which are very expensive in Ireland.
Rubbish collection and recycling costs. Water charges - as we are on a private water group scheme.

Q.        Do I need a car when I stay at Dangan Lodge Cottages?
A.        Yes, absolutely. Public transport is very limited in the Irish countryside and taxis are quite expensive eg 25 Euro one way for four persons to Ennis! Trains are limited, slow and also expensive. To see the Irish attractions it is best to be mobile.

Q.        How far away are the nearest supermarket and pubs/restaurants?
A.        The closest villages are four miles from the cottages and all the directions and details are provided in the cottages.

Q.        Is there traditional Irish music available locally?
A.        We can provide all the necessary information on pubs which play music but please know that, in most cases, music doesn’t start in the pubs until after 9.30 pm.
